Baked Ham with Apple-Orange Dijon Glaze
This recipe came together on a trip to visit friends who are basically family. We’d brought a ham with us and wanted to cook a meal for everyone, but every recipe I found had way too many ingredients. So we got creative with what we had on hand and so this simple apple-orange glaze was born. It turned out absolutely delicious and was such a hit! With the holidays coming up, I wanted to share it as a reminder that good food doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s just about making something special out of what’s already in your kitchen.

Directions

Ingredients:

  • 1 Smoked Boneless Ham (2-3lb.)
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 4 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1-2 apples, finely grated or blended
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, Dijon mustard, honey, apple, apple cider vinegar, and salt.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  3. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  4. Place the smoked ham in a roasting pan.
  5. Brush a generous layer of glaze over the ham. Cover loosely with foil.
  6. Cook for 10-12 minutes per pound, or until warmed through (about 140°F internal temperature).
  7. Halfway through heating, spoon some of the glaze from the bottom of the pan over the ham.
  8. During the last 10–15 minutes, remove the foil and brush on any remaining glaze for a glossy, caramelized finish.
