Not Your Average Dogs
To celebrate summer and the launch of our new grass-fed beef hot dogs, I had a little fun in the kitchen and came up with two creative, summery takes on a classic! With the 4th of July just around the corner, these are definitely going on my menu. Both versions were absolutely delicious and brought something special to each bite. The Watermelon Relish Dog is light and refreshing, while the BLT Dog is savory, satisfying, and just the right amount of indulgent. Whether you're grilling for a backyard BBQ or just want to shake up a weeknight dinner, these fun hot dog ideas are a hit!

Directions

Watermelon Relish Dog
Servings: 8

  • 2 cups of watermelon (seedless), cut into matchsticks or small cubes
  • 1 small cucumber, cut into matchsticks or small cubes
  • 2 tbsp red onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp jalapeño, minced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp mint, chopped
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup of feta
  • 1 package of Rehoboth Beef Hot Dogs
  • 8 Brioche Hot Dog Buns

In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except the feta. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Meanwhile, cook your hot dogs on the grill or in a skillet and toast your buns right after.

To assemble - Place the hot dogs in the brioche bun. Use a fork or slotted spoon to scoop the watermelon relish on to the hot dogs. Top with crumbled feta and enjoy!

BLT Dog
Servings: 8

Wrap each hot dog with 1-2 slices of bacon, securing the ends with toothpicks. Grill or fry your hot dogs in a pan until bacon is crispy and the hot dog is heated through. Remove the toothpicks. Toast the buns lightly either in a skillet or on the grill.

In a small bowl, combine the mayo and lemon juice to thin It for the drizzle.

To assemble - Line the bottom of the bun with romaine lettuce leaves, add the bacon wrapped dog, sprinkle with diced cherry tomatoes and drizzle mayo on top. Enjoy!
